What is it?

Have been getting unauthorized charges from AM Apps. PayPal has not addressed these charges even though I contacted them months ago. I am now getting a third charge to my account. This is a 5 man company originating from Cyprus and scamming many people.

I just found a withdrawl to my bank account, with Paypal paying AM Apps Ltd. I see that this company is notorious for scamming people into recurrent charges. I am one of those. I did not authorize this subscription. How do I cancel & get a refund?

I stupidly signed up for the fasting program using my Apple card and now I've gotten two more charges on a different credit card that I didn't give to them. I am really confused about this & want to get my money back. It shows up as AM Apps Ltd on the other card.

I went to the PayPal resolution center on their website. I provided an explanation of how I previously contacted Simple° by phone and had my account closed in September, 2022 because of double billing. Neither PayPal nor Simple provided a refund. Now, at the beginning of December, Simple has again billed my PayPal account. The bill under the pseudonym AM APPTS LTD. This time, I asked for a phone call from the PayPal resolution center and provided my cell number. PayPal called back in an amazingly quick 90 minutes. I was able to explain my situation at length to PayPal and I was assured my case would be resolved to my satisfaction. However, best operating protocols require PayPal to allow Simple° 10 days to provide a refund before Simple°, also known as AM APPS LTD, would be banned from my account. For the first time, I feel that this unethical scamming company will discontinue hitting on me. If you do not get your case resolved, I strongly urge you to contact your State Department of Commerce and file a complaint. The DOC controls who is allowed to do business in your state. I benefited from this type of action by getting a ruling that a smaller insurance company can no longer sell policies to private individuals in Minnesota.

This company is a fraud. They also tried to charge me for a subscription I never signed up for!

I am another person who has been charged by AM Apps, LTD for a subscription that I never requested, authorized or used. And PayPal has denied me assistance with this issue. I can see here that many other people have experienced the same thing. Today, I filed a complaint with the CA Attorney Generals Office of Consumer Complaints. I would like to make sure no one else has to go through this. They have credited me for one charge of $39.20. However they have charged me 6 times, despite the fact that i never signed up for this app.

I used and liked the Simple app, but cancelled the account (and the auto-renewal) January 17th through the app. This is a good app and I lost weight while using it. I verified that Google apps cancelled it.

Despite this, I received an additional renewal charge of $43.60 from AM APPS LTD, which my bank fortunately declined.

*AM APPS LTD, 35314369001, CY.

I was contacted by the bank's fraud center shortly after.

This AM APPS is one dishonest company.

Folks they are still doing it as of Jan. 11 a 6 p.m. Jan. 11, 2023. Be careful. Although I don't know how one can "be careful" when we didn't sign up for anything but got scammed. Just call your bank right away!

It's for an app called "Simple Fasting." They probably manipulated you into a subscription that you don't even realize you have. They did the exact same thing to me!

I checked out Simple Fasting via an advertisement on Facebook. I agreed to pay $9.73 for their 7 day trial, but declined all the following addons and "enhancements" that were popped up. PayPal sent me a receipt showing I paid for the 7 day trial immediately followed by a second receipt for $43.60 to the same company. I immediately disputed it, but PayPal's dispute center just sent me a request for a copy of my receipt to the company. Huh? PayPal's the company that sent me a receipt alerting me to the charge. What game are they playing?

This company AM Apps Ltd operating an app under the name of Simple is a fraud. Do not sign up with them for any reason. I have blocked them on my paypal account and also filed a complaint with my credit card company. Be careful of this company. Paypal should by all accounts based on all the complaints listed here flag them as a fraud. . Still waiting for my $79.20 refund from them, and all I get is an automated message saying they are looking into it. I know it's a lost cause, but just warning others. It's disgusting that companies like this exist.

I showed a $60.00 auto pay on my pay pal account. When I went to check it out...there had been several payments taken out every 3 months. Never realized this. What exactly is this for? I have cancelled my auto pay on my pay pal account. Getting ready to try to cancel through AM APPS LTD. I'll let you know how it works out.

I have been charged $39.90 by AM APPS LTD. I do not know who they are. The charge was made thru Paypal. Please help

I did not subscribe to this app. It was charged to my PayPal account.

I am having the same issue with AM Apps. They are charging both my debit card and my Apple Card. I can't get them to answer my emails and I can't stop the charges

You can advise Paypal to cancel this company under Billing Agreement. Paypal will send you confirmation stating no further payments will be made to that merchant, AM Apps Ltd. Hope this helps others.

It's disgusting that companies like AM Apps Ltd exist.

OMG! Just checked over my charges for the year and saw the same thing! I'm glad I read these posts! Will be contacting PayPal immediately!

Yes, it's the Simple Fasting app. I woke up this morning to a fraud alert from my bank for $79 that I didn't know about. I would not have signed up for a membership that was $79 every 3 months. Crazy charge! This company needs to be on the BBB watch list or something.

I also had a recurring charge, for $79 from this company- paypal also refused to refund it and stated it was "consistent with my paypal history"

This was absolutely an unauthorized charge and I am appalled that Paypal could so quickly "determine" it wasn't fraudulent in a matter of minutes.

I agreed to a 7 day trial at the start of the year but did not agree to upgrade. I noticed that the email sent said that they would charge the full price if I did not cancel - unfortunately I didn't notice that until after 7 days but they had not charged me.

I contacted them on the email address and said I wanted to cancel, they responded and told me to download the app (I hadn't previously done that) and cancel.

I downloaded the app but it said my trial was over and invited me to take out a subscription. It did not offer me an option to cancel. So I quit out and uninstalled the app.

3 hours later I got a message from Paypal saying my subscription had been debited. I used their resolution thing but no suitable menu entry was available but I selected the "goods not received" option.

No reply or acknowledgement from Paypal.

I also emailed the people - twice but no reply.

These people are scammers - beware!

This is 100% a fraudulent company, I was charged after cancelling/deleting this app the minute I signed up. Their 'customer service' is highly unprofessional - it includes little weird emoji's and they do not answer the enquiries correctly. I was charged over $50 via Paypal which is odd because I didn't even sign up through Paypal. I also double checked my Google subscriptions which had no such subscription, which is correct - if you have current subscriptions you'll clearly see it in this section of Google. Paypal continue to bug me for weeks trying to get the charge from me even though it is connected to an account I never would have signed up to in the first place (and is inaction/without money in it). Luckily, I have no money in the account they are trying to charge via Paypal but I have been in contact with Paypal and they are slow and not helpful in my opinion. They directed me to unsubscribe (which I explained I had done so over 3 months ago) and they continue to tell me I 'owe Paypal' the charge even though it is clearly fraudelent. It is enough to make me want to leave Paypal, they are so f**king clueless and just assume people are idiots and are subscribed to things they are not subscribed to! Hello, it's called fraud - which is why we use Paypal. Paypal has lost my trust on this one.

Oh dear" Same here, just checked my PayPal and found two £79 payments after I tried the fasting trial and also one for Madmuscle a fitness app which I signed up for one week and didn't authorise future payments. a fraudulent company that Paypal need to disassociate with.

Like many on here, I discovered random charges from this company through my PayPal. I don't have a "Simple" account and did not authorize any charges. I disputed the most recent and PayPal automatically refunded me. I then went to the beginning and disputed that charge. The company offered me 1/2 back, I declined and with my response included the link to these comments. I have been refunded over $250 within minutes.

I also just got a charge on my account for Am Apps Ltd for $79.00 and I didn't sign up for anything!

I didn't subscribe for it. I didn't provide this company with any of the details. Just filed a dispute with a paypal. This company is a scam.

I also had a $79.20 and a $54.32 charge to my Robinhood and CashApp accounts. I just started the Cash App account so there was no funds in it. Robinhood denied the transaction because it was used by a merchant from a country that is not supported, (Kinda saved my behind). They tried twice for both accounts and amounts, for a total of 8 attempts, all within 2 minutes. Funny thing is that, I don't even remember downloading the Simple app. I opened the app to see what it was and unsubscribe. The subscription is only $27 a year, these people are scammers.

I did not authorize charges in my PayPal account from this company. When I go into the app, it says that I am not signed up, ye they have been charging me through PayPal. Be very careful with this fraudulent company.

Was charged in my credit card, doesn't have my authorization!

I don't know how lucky you'll be getting a refund. But if you open the app, called "Simple" on my phone, you'll see a link called "manage subscription" and that link will lead you to another link that will let you cancel the subscription. I'll wait now to see if it charges me again.

I also noted I had been charged €79.2 twice without my consent. Just sent them a recap of their practices. And also this:

"I'm a Designer and this is an extremely dark pattern, if I've ever seen one.

I also checked that you operate from Cyprus and are thus under EU legislation. EU's Digital Services Act prohibits dark patterns on digital platforms. It is also complemented by rules such as Unfair Commercial Practices Directive, which ensures that no regulatory gap is left for platforms to manipulate users."

Please also go to App Store and Google Play and report the company. The rating of this app on both is over 4. I would have wanted to saa about these fraudulent practices before I downloaded the app.

Had no idea I was getting charged all this time!! Refund please

Unauthorized charge.I WANT A REFUND!

I received an email from PayPal that I had a charge to my account for $39.20 from AM APPS LTD. it showed that it was withdrawn using a card that had expired. PayPal is not showing this transaction. The bank paid the charge. I called my bank and found out the charge went to my bank account, not thru the card. The bank restricted my account and are disputing. I don’t use this bank account so I don’t know how they got my account number. I inadvertently clicked on the link in the email and after I signed in (PayPal) it showed an error. Unfortunately they already had my info. I went into PayPal right away and changed my password. I have been instructed by the bank to close out my PayPal account and open a new one.

This company is a fraud! They keep charging me an unauthorized $59.40 monthly and I keep running into brick walls to get it cancelled. Then when you do finally get through to someone "on line" they say they will take care of your problem for another fee! What a bunch of bogus crap! Again... "AM APPS LTD" is a big fraud!

The same has happened to me. Does anyone know how to cancel the subscription so they don't take it from my Paypal account? I have cancelled it through paypal, but not sure if that will stop it coming out of another account later on. They seem to have all my details, which I did not give them.

See my earlier post on how to cancel. You can do it in the app.

The is a charge on my credit card and that did not pay it. It says PayPal *am apps LTD

Can you help? What is this charge?
