What is it?

This is a charge for the Amazon.com Cloud Drive storage. Mine was automatically charged to me as a pending transaction just because I paid to become an Amazon Prime customer. Apparently, the cloud storage was a free benefit last year and Amazon wants to charge me for another year. That is, charge me without explicitly asking me first.

This is a very shady tactic, at best.

Amazon's Customere Service can be reached at 866-216-1072 (in Washington state). The first service rep transfered me to the "Cloud Storage" department where that rep deleted the charge.

If you goto amazon.com/clouddrive and then Manage Storage you can see your current subscription level. From there you can easily cancel and downgrade back to free (or whatever). If you do so within 60 days I believe it states you're entitled to a free refund. It is annoying, however, to have had to dig in and investigate where this sudden and unexpected charge came from (and why).

This happened to me and, like others, I was immediately incensed - but when I called Amazon I discovered that it was a 6 month trial that I had agreed to and forgotten about (or frankly didn't realize) - which is so easy to do these days with so many online relationships. Either way, it's my responsibility to watch out for those things. Auto-renewals aren't usually notified in advance by anyone. Amazon was very helpful and removed the charge immediately, which is 100% of their role in addressing my problem. They're a good company and there is nothing fraudulent going on here, so people should take some responsibility for their part.

I just got off an extremely frustrating call with Amazon. I received a charge to my bank account today and called to inquire. I was on the phone for about 30 mins with a rep that told me the charge was for my annual service. I went around and around with her asking why I had a free year and now I am being charged. She kept saying that it was never free but then when I asked what the $59.99 service period was I was told it was from Dec 2016 - Dec 2017. So then I asked okay, when was I charged for the Dec 2015 - Dec 2016 period? And there was no charge - so yes, it was originally free. So then I asked where I was notified to expect this charge. The rep looked at emails sent out and said that she didn't see an email to me about it within the past 6 months. Then said she could send me one now. I told her NOW doesn't tell me AHEAD OF TIME to expect the charge. Then she put me on hold. Once she came back she said that they are having "technical difficulties" and to expect an email within 2 hours explaining the charge and saying that the emails usually go out the day of the charge. I'm sorry, but something hitting my bank account and THEN a notification is NOT OKAY with me. On top of it, it was very clear that a notification would not have been sent at all if I hadn't called. I am FURIOUS.

I was fraudulently charged 59.99 by Amazon for cloud storage. This was initially a free service and you sneakily charged my account. I have discovered that Amazon did this to others. I expect to have this corrected immediately and certainly NO LATER THAN TODAY.

Like others, I just discovered this fraudulent charge. The charge doesn't show up in your Amazon orders list which makes it even more fraudulent. When I phone them they nicely returned the money they stole but I shouldn't have to phone the thief to get my money back.

I discovered the charge of $59.99 on my account, called to demand they return the money and was told it would be 5-10 business days before I would see my money. I'll be calling the California State Attorney General in the morning to file charges.

I will be cancelling my Amazon account as a result of this unethical business behavior. I found an unauthorized transaction on my charge card. I contacted the bank about a fraudulent transaction, and they cancelled my credit card. Now I need to contact all of my auto pays to have them changed. Amazon has reached a new LOW.
