Twice, when my credit card details (not the card) have been stolen, a nominal (less than $10) charge has appeared from “aceparking” just prior to a slew of high value charges. While Aceparking appears to be a legitimate company, it would also seem that bad actors are using it to verify card details before going on a spending spree. To me, this suggests Aceparking is known by the thieves to not verify the identity of the cardholder or that the cardholder is in physical possession of the credit card before accepting it for transactions. It also suggests data thieves know this and are using Aceparking to verify stolen data before using it for any major transaction. If you haven’t recently paid at a parking station, or if the charge appears to be from a city you haven’t visited, I suggest you decline the charges and inform your credit card company that your card details might have been leaked. It will save you grief in the future.
