I couldn't get a clear answer out of my father about how he came into contact with these thieves. With his lack of computer literacy he's the perfect target for these sorts of scammers. Soaked him for $500.

BIZ BOOKS LLC charged my debit card $100.00 on 4/10/17 I have no idea what it was for or even who this company is. My bank is investigating the charge.

I just discovered at Christmas dinner yesterday that my father-in-law has spent somewhere in the realm of $3,000 with BizBooks123 for computer "support" that started with some kind of "fix" to an email "problem". These are modern-day scams that are built up by professionals who will "fix" your problems and make your computer look and feel like it has been fixed. If you don't suspect anything, they now get to start growing volumes of information about you and can turn to milking you periodically when a "problem" occurs with your system. The alarm for me was seeing that BizBooks123 charged my father-in-law $799 for general IT-related support services on one of the charges (nevermind the several others for periodic charges) that a place like Best Buy Geek Squad would charge $100-200 year for, and where you'd get both a competent and well-known service both by phone/web and a place to take your computer in if you needed to.

I have a charge on my credit card for ""BIZ BOOKS LLC, (800)486-3289 NC " and this is a legit charge for Austin Business Journal Book of Lists electronic download that I did.

Biz Books 123 sent an alarm to my computer which stated I should call a number to get my computer fixed. Since I already paid for a security service, I thought I was talking to the security company. While talking via phone, I was asked if I have a security company to which I stated McAfee. They even looked it up for me and saw that my security doesn't end until 2021. Biz went on to say McAfee wasn't able to stop my computer screen from alarming with a note to call the number on the screen, so I should get their product. I made up it was Microsoft. They sent me a document and stated I should just sign it (via my keyboard), which I did but only seeing my signature, not that this company is Biz Books. They said I'd have their pkg. & that McAfee comes free with it for a lifetime. I requested a $631.74 refund
