What is it?
I received an email from my CC Company, it was a Fraud Alert for a charge from DMI Dell Higher Edu in the amount of approx. $1900.00 and that I needed to respond ASAP, they did mark the transaction as "declined" thankfully! Once I responded a definite "NO" to the charge, my phone rang and it was my CC Company following up, apparently the DMI Dell Higher Ed is an ongoing scam. Again, thankfully my CC Co. caught it and declined it so I am only inconvenienced by having to wait for a new CC. It seems to me that Dell is pretty complacent on trying to stop this fraud, a huge computer company cannot stop this? That's ridiculous, and if they can't stop it they are certainly aware enough about it that they need to take extra precautions on the legitimate purchases in order to recognize the fraudulent purchases. Shame on Dell! Thankfully I have an Apple
I was scammed. I thought I was renewing my Dell premium warranty on Oct 8th,2017. This morning my computer seems to have been compromised, A pop up menu from microsoft (?) informed me that a pornographic spyware virus or malware had been discovered. I called Dell and there is no record that my warranty had been renewed. I finally found the transaction listed as DMI*Dell Higher Education and had been charged $236. Dell tech support told me the renewal would have been more, somewhere around $280. Dell won't do anything unless I pay at least $129. and that would be for a one time support session. I can't afford that or pay for ANOTHER warranty! Now I'm trying to get a refund and report this so that hopefully the source of this scam can be found. I have no support now and pray that I can at least repair any damages to my identity and be protected by AVG. I certainly have my doubts. I think the FCC might want to know about this so that's what I'll try to do next.

A charge of $179.48 appeared on my credit card statement of $179.48 from DMI DELL HIGHER EDU. We never purchased anything from DMI DELL HIGHER EDU. and I want this taken off my credit card ASAP. I also want an explanation of how this got on my card!!
On Dec. 18, 2019 a substantial charge of $1,200 appeared on my Visa debit card from this source. I immediately called my bank to inactivate my card. I am requesting an immediate refund. After a quick online search I identified that this is a scam and other people have been targeted as well. Because I notified my bank quickly and while the charge was still in pending status, my bank has now removed the charge. Debit card fraud is, unfortunately, on the rise.
