What is it?

I have the same charge on my card and it is from purchasing in game currency for an ArenaNet game- specifically Guild Wars 2 in my case.

(Happened again in Malaysia) I had 4 charges of $50 separate time on my card from DRI*ARENA, luckily received the SMS from the bank alert. The payment were sneaky it was made during late night around 1am. Once I woke up and realized it, quickly called the bank for investigate and terminate my card. Bank mentioned will further investigate, hope this help to other who faced this same issue.

I thik this is Guild Wars 2 gem transaction. Because ArenaNet marks their transactions by this mark and the transaction provider should be Digital River Ireland. Check it out.

This charge is a gem store purchase on the multiplayer game called Guild Wars 2. The gem store is a service where players of the game can purchase gems which can be used to exchange for premium items (expanding their in-game bank storage space, change the appearance of their equipment, etc).

$50.00 USD gets a player 4,000 gems. The max someone can buy in one purchase is $100.00 for 8,000 gems, but generally a lot of folks have technical issues with this option so stick to $50.00. The TOTAL limit a player can spend in one day is $300.00.

So the fact folks have 6 charges of $50.00 makes sense and you're unlikely to see more than 6 charges in a day on one card.

It's highly likely that a player of Guild Wars 2 has found your details posted online somewhere (which could happen due to a data breach or falling for a phishing scam, etc). Alternatively if you have a child or younger sibling who plays video games, it's possible that they have stolen or memorised your card information and have made the purchases. While you used to have to purchase the game to play it, it's now possible to play a limited version of the game for free, so your child may have downloaded it without your knowledge.

It's EXTREMELY unlikely that the game company themselves have maliciously stolen money from you.

I found 8 Charges from DriARENA to be submitted to my checking account on the 17th. I called Bank Customer Service and canceled current card and was told if I wanted to start Fraud charges I should call back on Friday 18th. Having called them I called an 800 number for DRIARENA(866 367 9516) when called it led to a fraud refund service.

2021 and this is still happening! Had a $100 charge today from DRI*ARENA. Not us!

SMS from bank on Sunday morning about fraud alert on my debit. I hadn't used that card for nearly a year. Went online to my bank and saw 6 $54 charges to my card. I then contacted the bank and immediately reported fraud for all those charges. I was told that there were additional charges that were denied. Hopefully the money will be replaced as soon as Monday so I can pay my bills on time. Apparently, the company has been accepted hacked cards since 2014.

I just had 3 x $100 charges to DRI*ARENA posted on my card. Thankfully Capital One alerted me to it and I registered the fraud charge, but still waiting to see they get removed. This happed a few days after I used an online service carhistory.online to run a VIN check....avoid them !!!

08/3/21 this is still happening, someone tried charging my card for DriArena for $50 and then again for 20 but it declined because I had that debit card frozen for another reason! Called my bank and canceled the card completely.

I just found 6 charges from DriArena and 2 from DriNC softcorp. on my credit card. Im calling the bank to cancel my card.

Just saw a $50 charge on my checking account dated today (5/23/16) for DRI*Arena. Don't know what this company is. I don't play video games. Called bank. Told me to way until it clears on 5/28/16) and I can initiate fraud charges. I will be cancelling my card ASAP

DRI Arena Net LLC posted to my account yesterday; have NO idea what this is or who this company is. Called my credit card company and they tried to do a 3 way call to get more info about the transaction and conveniently the number is not in service. My bank immediately shut down my card and not it is being investigated in the fraud department. SMH!!

Can you help? What is this charge?
