This is from a phishing scam that was sent to me via email, posing as PayPal.
The email software I use on my phone only shows the name of the sender upon opening an email, but if I want to see the address, I have to look further.
I was sent a VERY convincing scam email that looks exactly like it would have come from PayPal. It asked me to update my information and click on a link that would take me to the website. (The website is very convincing also).
I didn't think twice before entering all my details. And in doing so, I had given the scammers my debit card details. The next day I had approx 60 pending unauthorised transactions on my account ranging from $1.50 to $3. I had to cancel my card.
After the shock and the steps to fix it, I instantly thought of the email I was sent to update my 'PayPal' details, and when I went to find out the proper email address that sent the email to me, it was not official at all. The email address was miakhalifah@awkarin-sayang.com, but the name of the sender was the real PayPal email address.
Plus they sent it to my other email that I don't use to log into the real PayPal website!! I felt very silly. But please make sure you know the name of the address it was sent from, not just the name. Thankfully I caught it in time and I'll be getting my money back.
