I booked a hotel stay at Days Inn by Wyndam in Athabasca through the Expedia site. I never received a confirmation, so called the hotel to confirm there was a reservation there in my name. The rate per night was $132.56. When I received my credit card statement, the charge was billed though HELP.LODGING.CA., a site I had never heard of, nor visited. I was billed $215.83. The charge was put through in US dollars. I called my credit card company, who told me that without a confirmation, they couldn't help me. I too tried finding a way to contact help lodging, but google turned up nothing. I saw that someone above had posted a phone number for them ( 888-308-4415), so I've called and they'll send me an email, I guess we'll see what happens. I'm not computer savvy enough to know how people are getting kicked over to this spoofing site from Expedia.. but lesson learned for me. I will only be booking directly with hotels from now on.
