Thought I ws on Best Western's website and made a reservation thinking that I was on Best Western's legitimate website. Only to find out that this was a spoofing website and was charged $72.85 over the amount for the room. HTTPSHELP.LOD this kind of thing happens to many people and something shold be done about it. If I knew where they were I would take care of it myself.

What is it?
I also got hoodwinked. I thought I was dealing with Hyatt and wound up with an Expedia booking thru “shell.lod ca’”. Have tried to get a statement of changes which seems impossible. This outfit is….
Hotel chains need to give a heads up to customers who are booking. Seems to be a scam
Same thing as others that posted -- was attempting to make a reservation in Fullerton, CA and somehow ended up on a spoof site. When I attempted to request refund, I did not receive my entire charge back.
I received this erroneous charge ($364.76) on my credit card after making a reservation online. I was looking for hotels in Madera so the charge for Lodi was obviously made by someone else. It came up on my card as hotel lodg* studio6sui httpshelp.lod ca
No longer have the details but hopefully this will help someone. Wife got sucked into the hotel reservation spoof for around $1000 with insurance and junk fees. Called their number and they reversed the insurance, around $150, but even though I cancelled the reservation through them they would not return the rest!! (They even sent a cancellation verification.) OK, since it was charged to my Wells Fargo credit card I disputed the card with WF and in the documentation included a screen shot of the their Better Business Bureau rating of F! So far I have received everything back except for around $25 which WF says is still owed me. Moral: dispute this garbage with your credit card company (hopefully you always use one for online transactions).
Thought I was making a hotel reservation at Wyndham's website for a room posted at $102. I was billed $151.38. Added without my permission was a charge of $11.35 for something called reservation insurance. I cancelled the reservation. They agreed to refund $139.50 which showed up in my bank account, but hours later, that refund disappeared. I will inform Wyndham's corporate headquarters of this spoofing scam as well as my state Attorney General as well as TV stations that have investigative reporters. The person I got to speak with online did say he was talking from Columbia. Scam, scam, scam!!!
Like everyone else, thought I was making a reservation for The Parkview in Syracuse on their website but Expedia scammed me. My bad, I'll take the $25 hit as a stupid tax but will never use Expedia again.
In June, I thought I was making a reservation for Central Motel in Florida. The lady who answered the phone confirmed that it was Central and asked how she could help. I made a reservation and, like others, was fraudulently charged for travel insurance. I was notified of the charge on my telephone and when I saw it was higher than agreed, I immediately called the number back (all of this took place in less than 15 mins). They agreed to remove the insurance charge -- which they have not done as of yet. I called my credit card company and they are working with me as they waited to see the charge appear on my statement. Not sure what the outcome will be at this time but this is fraudulent and a scam . . . .
Same as others; made what i thought was a Choice hotel reservation website. Was charged a $45.45 above the bill at the hotel.Disputed my charge card and Choice hotel,no luck GOT SCAMMED 888-271 -5061 is not legit
I made an online reservation for one night at the Embassy Suites in Parsippany NJ thinking it was a direct website reservation only to find out from the front desk (when I called to cancel my reservation) that my booking was through a third party called HTTPSHELP.LOD CA. Since I did not receive an e-mail confirmation from this 3rd party, I googled the company but none showed up. I called Capital One and fortunately, they had a contact number which I am sharing with you 888-308-4415. I called them and was told I will be able to get my refund in 10-12 days. We shall see!
