My Master credit card issued by QNB Finansbank Turkey has been charged for several transactions for my non-existing Play Station account in 11/2020 by PlaystationNetwork and PLAYSTATIONNETWORK both based in the UK as confirmed by my bank. No such company is existent. I checked an actual purchase made from Play Station within Turkey for an online game purchase and the credit card is charged by PLAYSTATIONNETWORK LONDON GBGB this time which also doesn’t appear in the UK company registry. Company’s registered name mentioned below should normally match the campany title on the credit card statement to my best knowledge.
Confirmation e-mail sent from sony@email.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com for the purchase include peculiar statements such as “This is not a VAT/GST invoice.” and “This email has been sent on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment Network Europe Limited, a company registered in the United Kingdom with registration number 06020283, with its registered address at 10 Great Marlborough Street, London, W1F 7LP.” Who are customers actually dealing with if purchase confirmation e-mails are sent ON BEHALF OF them and where is the invoice? Online software purchases are just purchases at the end of the day in terms of accounting and they are obliged to provide an invoice to their customers.
I have ended up establishing a FB group to pressurise Play Station to introduce default two-step SMS verification to avoid unauthorised purchases by junior family members or criminals as well as to collect information on their global accounting system to report any irregularities to the authorities if deemed necessary.

I have also sent an e-mail to info@whatsthatcharge.com to ask for their assistance to bring the victims together so that we can exchange information as I suspect there must be a link for the crime in question.
