I work for a major credit card company, and these charges are often not fraud. By giving your credit card information to a merchant, you're accepting their terms and conditions and giving them the authorization to bill your account. We often get calls about clients who enroll in these programs (either with or without knowledge) and demand funds back for charges that we cannot dispute. We have no rights against these merchants if the card information was provided. Banks will often issue courtesy credits, but we cannot pursue the merchants to get the money back. Ultimately, by asking the banks for refunds is essentially stealing from the bank, as the money is not recoverable. Please read all terms and conditions for any transaction before taking part in it, as the banks are held to whatever terms and conditions you agree to as well.
