What is it?

Okay, this may help some but not all...

I had received 2 purchases on the same day for the amount of $169.49 each and it appeared to be from itunes.

A very long story but here are the key points:

I sent itunes an email and they confirmed I had not made these purchases on my account with them.

So, I called visa...

I had previously had a visa gold card about 5 months ago. I upgraded the card and that visa gold one went inactive.

I was issued a new card and had been using it for several months. Then these 2 charges appeared from itunes. So, I called Visa and they cancelled my card and credited my account. A few days later the charges had been reapplied to my visa account.

It turns out that the old visa gold card had been compromised and not the one I had upgraded to. So, visa explained that although the card had been inactive that's the one that had been used for the fraudulent purchases.

Visa will credit my account but it just takes a little longer as they have to make the fraud claim for the proper visa number that was used.

Just an FYI - it may be useful

I also had almost $2000 charged to me by apple with this number. I called apple and they said the person picked up a phone already and had also ordered other items. We’re investigating with the police, as they also charged to another company and had a charge that showed their cell number. I was able to obtain their delivery address for groceries they ordered through my card number and the phone number that showed up in my statement. I hope they are caught.

I just received notice that my prepaid MasterCard was charged 0.10 twice from APL*APPLEONLINESTOREUS 800-676-2775 CA I know I haven't used this service and I even checked my account with Apple and the have a card that I cancelled still registered there as my payment of choice. How were these charges made and how can I keep future changes from being made from these people. My main concern is are they testing the card to see when my direct deposits are applied and can Apple look up these charges and trace them back to the people who did them.

While reconciling my checking account (to which my debit card is linked) I noticed an apple charge ( a pos) point of sale. This was a red flag.....it was a pending ( future date ) charge followed by another pos which was followed by a 3rd communication from the fraudulent Apple for a credit thus erasing the 2nd charge. Obviously, this is a phising ploy to see if they got away with this....next time go in for the kill shot ! Since I , like many others, buy online I'm extremely anal in checking debits vs credits and was fortunate to be in the right place at the right time. If you, and who doesn't, use credit or debit cards don't ever think that it can't or won't happen to you. Be vigilant, be anal !!!

Two days ago I happened to check my Visa account and found ten unauthorized charges. Three big one from the APL Apple online store for $2,000, $2,000 again, and $500.
Visa agent cancelled the card and we will not be charged for these ten incidents. Visa told me the Apple charges were online but the others were local, here in Houston.
I have never used the card for iTunes, have never charged at any Apple store. Our cards with this number were not missing. Therefore, somehow the perpetrator(s) copied the info and made new cards.

I would like to clarify something

All of these charges are NOT the same.

If it says Online store, you need to call Sales Support as someone used your info online.

If it says iTunes.com/bill, you need iTunes as your information was used in either iTunes or the App Store.

If it says POS, it means your information was used in store and you will need to call sales support.

Pre-auth means that either billing information has been updated and it is verifying it’s a valid card or there’s a purchase attempted, these fall off in a few days.

I had a charge for $43.25 on 12/3/2019 on my credit card that I was SURE was wrong. The description said APPLE.COM/US and the merchant phone number was (800) 676-2775. I searched thru my whole iTunes history and all subscriptions and couldn’t find any matching charge. While on hold with Apple, I remembered that someone in our family had ordered a phone case from the Apple store. 100% legit.

On March 3 I discovered 7 emails- bills from itune on the amount below $400 Can where were ordered 12 or 13 items from itune store. I saw my name, my address, my email, the last 4 diigits of my master card that I received (updated) near 6 months ago in the bills. I checked my master card - it was luck of this amount or even more. I called to the bank of Montreal and told that I didn't do these transactions - no problems - they blocked the card and started investigation. In 2 days I saw not 7, but even 9 transactions (so, 2 bills itune didn't send me)on my master card account online. And I saw this discription: APL*APPLE ITUNES STORE 800-676-2775 I pri9nted all out and sent by fax to fraud department of BMO to investigate... and am waiting until my card is credited by this amount. How it is possible that Apple store has information (that they should keep secure ) hacked?

This morning I happened to check my account and noticed that $1196.54 was charged to my account by APL*APPLEONLINESTOREUS 800-676-2775 CA. Luckily it was immediately put back by Apple as it must have noticed that something was wrong. I cancelled my card immediately (Chase). It seems like scammers are running hot this time of year.

i had 5 different cards each having charges of 109$ a total of 8 times between the 5 cards. Two of them were debit cards that are never used for purchases online or on the phone. I am not sure how all of these accounts were accessed. But I did not make any of these purchases. All cards have been canceled and are fighting the charges.

We recently had these charges show up on our credit card. This prompted a closer look at previous transactions... We have thousands of dollars. Call to our Credit Card provider and had all transactions reversed.

So, our Apple charges were fraudulent.

Can you help? What is this charge?
